Eugenie Scott – Getting The Ideological Fingers Out Of Their Ears

AGU 2014 Tidbits – Anecdotes And Stories From The Front Lines Of Science

During the AGU Fall Meeting I had the honor of working with Peter Sinclair of Climate Denial Crock of the Week and John Cook of Skeptical Science, interviewing an amazing line-up of scientists and science communicators. I’m floored by who we interviewed and could have a chat with. Everyone brought their A game which gave us some incredible footage.

Video description

Eugenie Scott is an American physical anthropologist and a former university professor who served as the executive director of the National Center for Science Education from 1987 to 2014. She’s one of the strongest voices that challenge the teaching of young earth creationism and intelligent design in schools.

In this clip she talks about how important it is to get through ideological filters so that you can explain the science.
