Ventures Into Scepticism

Real Sceptic has its origins as a companion site for the videos produced by Collin Maessen. The site has progressed beyond this original purpose and now predominantly includes articles that are independent of the content released on YouTube. However this original content is still an important part of the site.

This page serves as an archive for videos produced and released on YouTube. You can find full transcripts, source listing and used media files for the videos. We are currently in the process of transcribing all the audio.

Please note that the first nine videos are of a substantial lower quality than videos that were produced after these. As these first nine videos were as much, and in some case more, about learning to edit videos and learning how to tell a story in sound and images.

Video description

Today I found out I was blocked from NephilimFree's channel.

Strange thing is, I didn't behave in any way uncivil in the comments I posted. I didn't false flag, stalk, harass him or anyone else who posted comments. I haven't even thumbed down any comments that disagreed with me.

As I didn't behave maliciously in any way, I can only see one reason he banned me:
he didn't like me posting comments as I'm actually literate, or informed, on some of the subjects he uses in his pro creation argument.

And you know what the saddest part is, I actually liked diving into those discussions, as often there were subjects involved that would force me to learn something new.

Today I found out I was blocked by NephilimFree.

I didn't behave in any way uncivil in the comments I posted.

I didn't false flag, stalk, harass him or anyone else who posted comments.

I haven't even thumbed down any comments that disagreed with me.

He even removed one of my comments when I talked about junk DNA and our current understanding of what it actually is.

I just explained what the term means in context of current research.

And how it was a badly chosen name (we now call it non-coding DNA).

As I didn't behave maliciously in any way, I can only see one reason he banned me:

he didn't like me posting comments as I'm actually literate, or informed, on some of the subjects he uses in his pro creation argument.

So, NephilimFree, why are you so afraid of discussing the science behind your claims?

Especially when you claim that the evidence is on your side?

Or might it just be that you silence anyone who posts evidence to the contrary on your videos?

NephilimFree: I don't believe, see I don't believe that. I don't believe that. No it's not out there. There is no such information out there! No!
